I always like to have more than one thing on the go. The energy from one project can lift you through one of the inevitable bad patches with another project. Poetry feeds fiction. Researching an article can suddenly trigger a book thought. Research for an historical novel has led to commissions for non-fiction.
I have gone back to old diaries to remind myself of details of being madly in love. Here are some of the projects I’ve most enjoyed:
- Books and Short Stories
- Music and Theatre
- Research and Education
Writing and presenting for radio. Taking an idea out to play.
Cantata for voices, string quintet, oboe and harp
A mini-opera for solo voice and oboe, used as examination piece.
RLF Fellowship to St Mary's University College helping students improve their writing.
Multimedia Show at Sydney Opera House
New Theatre Workshops - 1979-1982
A real-life detective story
Opera, cantata, carols, songs and the indescribable
A short story on theme of Information Risk Management, commissioned by Barclay’s Bank in 2010.
